I have had to treat 3 teenagers for zits and they all now have clear skin. A doctor that we saw told me to start giving them Zinc vitamins, I did and within a month their skin had cleared-up. Look at your granddaughter's fingernails, if you see little white dots under the fingernail this could be an indication of zinc deficiency. Other vitamins that help for the treatment of zits are A&E. I agree with the other comments about not using soap. We use sugar scrub instead. The old timers used to mix soap and sugar and apply it to cuts that had become infected, so when I saw that you could buy the scrub I bought it and really like it. Ya, dermatologist should help. Maybe something that can help with zits is toothpaste before you go to sleep... one of thos emint ones. they work wonders!
Try proactive it worked for me. If it dosen't work take her to a doctor.

I had moderate acne for about 13-14 years. Recently, I started using an oil free moisturizer after washing my face. The results have been outstanding. What I do is I use an over the counter face wash, leave it on my skin for 3-4 minutes in the shower, then wash it off. Then apply the moisturizer.
The reason? Your skin creates natural oils and makes extra when it's dry. If she uses an oil free moisturizer after washing, her skin won't make so much oil and help clear her complexion tremendously.
I would recommend using an over the counter face wash and moisturizer. My face use to break out and ever since I stopped using soap on my face and lotion it made such a big difference. I did however use proactive and the worked also! But from personal experience the most effective is a OTC face wash and cost efficient . And make sure to try something that clears blackhead! Like clean & clear blackhead clearing scrub. You dont have to buy that one I find the store brands work just as well. I also used it on my husbands face and he looks amazing now! You would be surprise what not using regular soap and lotion can do to your face~!!
