Doctors not helping with CHRONIC urinary tract infections...?!

Question: I have had UTI's since I was very young (about 4or 5 years old) and have had a few tests done but I know there are more tests that can be done because I've done research. Each test that has been done shows NOTHING wrong at all. I get a UTI approximately once every 3 months or so. I'm starting to worry about my kidneys because another test showed that my body refuses any of the antibiotics available for UTIs. Doctors keep telling me that the tests they haven't done cannot be done. They give me no reason. I have been in the emergency numerous times regarding UTIs and clinics, family doctor, etc. Even a specialist. I don't know what to do. Please help!!!

I went to a urologist when I was younger and he would dilate my urethra monthly. He said my urethra was narrow and bacteria was getting trapped inside causing the infections. Ask a urologist if this is still a method of treatment but definitely see a Urologist. Eventually that helped me or I outgrew them because i don't have them anymore.

Have you tried taking Macrodantin? I used to get UTI's constantly! I was getting one about every thirty days. I finally found a doctor who would listen to my problem, instead of just prescribing a bunch of antibiotics. Ask your doctor for Macrodantin. I take it daily and have for six months. I have not had one UTI since I started taking the meds. Good luck!

Remember to wipe from front to back, pee frequently and keep up on hygiene. Also always pee after sex. Drink cranberry juice, that helps ward off bacteria in your urinary tract

Antibiotics work. There are enough of them that you could easily find one that suits you. You are creating your own problem by not taking them.

get a 2nd opinion from a different urologist.
