Losing voice?!
Question: Is it just a really bad cold, or laragitous? I have a cold, and my throat REALLY hurts. I can barly talk, it hurt yesterday, but today I can barly talk. I had a low fever this morning, and my head really hurts too. But then again, i'm also asthmatic. My nose is a little stuffed, but it's not as bad as my throat. I've been homesick from school for 2 days. When should I go back?

laryngitis is swelling of the larynx. A fever indicates an infection, either viral or bacterial. If you can not talk, you have a fever, and a sore throat then you may have strept throat, which needs to be treated. Left untreated it can lead to scarlet fever. And untreated you are contagious. The only way to get rid of it is antibiotics. If it is just laryngitis then just rest your voice. Honey soothes the throat too.
There is nothing they can do for laringitis. I have had it before and it came right when I was getting over a cold. My throat never hurt from it.
I think that you may have strepe. Go to the doctor for a strepe test. You don't want that to go untreated.
Get an appointment and get in today if at all possible. Don't go back to school until you know for sure what it is (or after the 24 hours on antibiotics).
