Hello,
Mono, lord knows why people think they have to use the long name to describe something like this!

Heck you can get mono from a carrier from kissing, sharing feed/ drink, having sex lot of different ways.
Keep your body to yourself and you should be fine. Make it a habit of washing your hands.
If you do not have it and the other person does not have it more then likely you will not get it.
Go to the doctor do what the doc tells you to do.

Nope. Sharing sodas... being too close... many ways.

sharing drinks\ food

a person has to have it to spread it. It is in the saliva therefore you can get it from kissing- sharing a drink etc. so yes to your answer.

No, the main word in getting mono is "sharing" - lip balm, pop, eating utensils, etc. Actually, one of the most common ways to get it is via a drinking fountain!

You can get it from somebody who is carrying the disease but is not even showing symptoms. Kissing is only one way to get it. It is transmitted through saliva but you can get it from sharing drinks, utensils or anything else that comes into contact with the infested persons saliva and then your saliva.

No sharing foods or sneezing or coughing ect....

You get mono by kissing or drinking after the person with mono. Any of their facial body fluids (sneeze, salava) would carry the germs.

My best friend just came back to school today after having mono and she hasn't kissed anyone in months. You can get it from sharing drinks or even drinking out of a water fountain that has also been used by a mono victim. Basically, the answer to your question is no.

... or snot or other contaminated mucous membran. wash your hands more frequently.

Mononucleosis is highly contagious and it's not given by JUST kissing. I actually got mono from my cousin by just being around her and breathing in the air around her. Not sure HOW it became 'the kissing disease', but its not true. It is a virus just like the flu or any other virus as far as passing it on.
