I have this weird rash on my hand, doctor, nurse someone help me?!

Question: It first started out as a little dry spot. It is on my right hand in between my ring and pinky finger, it goes a litle bit up my ring finger, by my knuckle and is going down my palm. it's on other parts of my hand too like on ends of my fingers and my pinkly knuckle on my left hand. When I went to the doctor he wasn't sure what it was and just threw some extra strength hydrocortisone cream at me. I have been using the cream but hasn't been doing anything. If I don't have any bandaids and just leave my hands without anything then the spot get's really dry and cracks and I start bleeding. it's weird because the are these little water bubbles in my skin in and around the rashes. I really need help, it hurts and i'm tired of just looking at it. i don't need an exact diagnosis but just an idea of what I'm dealing with it.
Thank You!

actually it could be anything, but the rash sounds like a common rash associated with a liver disease called hepatitis c.

i had the same rash. for over 5 years nothing helped long term- even the hydrocortisone didn't work. if something did work the rash would come back just as bad after the prescription was done.

at one point i was told i was allergic to water....WATER! however, that is kinda hard to believe because we are made up of 75% water to begin with!

I had other complaints, but they were all "in my head".

It wasn't until 2001 (rash had been going on since 1995) I was diagnosed with HCV. Once I began treatment, the rash soon dissipated and I was well on the road to recovery- The rash has not returned and I am going 6 years post treatment. They treated the root cause and I am doing well!

Liver enzymes in a liver panel blood test are not always elevated leaving the doctor to think it is not HCV. This isn't the case at all. truth is, many of us walked around most of the time with normal enzymes. It is also the very nature of HCV infection itself as to why some have normal levels and others have mixed and others have chronic elevations.

Get tested for HCV antibodies- it is the only way to know for sure- ie, positive or past exposure tests come after the intitial test for HCV.

good luck!

I know what it is!

It is called Moccasin Foot. I swear it is true! You need an antifungal pill like you would take for a yeast infection. I had to take one each month for four months to get rid of itl The fungus is actually on your feet! I know this sounds weird, but my doc knew exactly what it was. Go see a dermatologist.
