Hi Vici, I had it in October (the day after my wedding - very bad timing!) and it lasted about 48 hours, although the vomiting stopped after 12 hours. I would recommend staying in bed and away from others if you are vomiting as it becomes airborne when you vomit. Don't eat anything for at least 12 hours after the symptoms have stopped.

Take care of yourself and I hope that you are feeling better soon.

Last about 24 hours just drink water

Paracetamol and lots of water.

Considering you're unable to move, what are you typing with, extra sensory perception?

Apparantly it lasts around 24 hours

drink plenty of fluids

paracetamol

get some rest

Eat something if you feel like it, but only simple foods

that's all I can offer

please keep away from your computer..we don't want it....sorry get well soon

Rest, drink lots of water because of dehydration and try not to eat as you will probably bring it straight back up.

i have been ill for 3 days! sickness for first 48 hours and through the eye of a needle squits today. Have temperature and shakes too.

It lasted for about 36 hours for me.
Then I felt like I had a hangover for another day or so.
Hang in there.
Drink water.
Eat some chicken soup - if you can.
And hang in there.
It WILL go away.....

I've had it twice now. Don't try to eat anything yet, just sips of water, and I found after about half a day that I could keep milk down and it sort of helped with the empty feeling, so you could try that.
The first time I had it it was a week at least before my appetite was back to normal. The second time wasn't quite so bad.
Hope you feel better soon!

I know it hurts but you should go to the doc and ask for help, at least go to the drugstore. You need antibiotics to kill the virus and might need serum if you are dehidrated, they might also inject something to stop the diarrea and the vomiting. So go to the doc soon, trust me I know.

Lots of clear fluids until the vomiting and diarrhea subsides.

It will last about a day or so

Eating dry toast is ok and fluid

well if ur unable 2 move then how the hell did ya write the question?? x

It could last a few days.I would suggest eating some chicken soup,Chicken ramen is my favorite and try some clear liquids to drink,Like 7-up or sprite.

I hope this might help you.

It sounds like you have a version of the Norovirus - it affects people in different ways.

I am a healer practitioner and Biochemic therapist of 25 years. There are two safe and natural remedies you can take at the onset of the virus, which many people are unaware of and that's why I've come on here in the hope of helping a few people. These two remedies are safe for children and animals too providing none of you are allergic or intolerant to lactose (milk sugar) found in milk. Take no notice of the name 'salt' used in the title, which is misleading - these remedies are not sodium and do not affect blood pressure. The title evolved in 1873 and the remedies were considered the 'salt of the earth' because they are natural minerals, not only already present in our bodies, but also readily available from the earth. When we are ill or stressed, our bodies need more of these minerals.

Stay in bed but ask someone to go to Holland & Barratt or any good herbal or health food store for you and purchase Dr Schuessler's New Era Biochemic Tissue Salts - No. 11. Nat Sulph, and No. 4. Ferr Phos. They cost
