Have food allergies always existed?????!

Question: When were food allergies first documented?

Answers: When were food allergies first documented?

I'm not sure exactly when food allergies were first documented but I do know they've existed ever since man has.
Food allergies are common and are usually nothing to worry about. Slight aversion to a certain food can somtimes be controlled with antihistamines or simply avoiding the food depending on the type of reaction and the severity.

I think the reason it seems there were little to no food allergies mentioned in history is due to the fact that doctors of the time simply didn't correctly diagnose the allergy. Medical science wasn't as well documented and didn't have the benefit of modern technology to properly identify food allergies and treat them.
I hope this helps answer your question

i don't think there really are any documentation of the first person to experience a food allergy. though i can say that I'm pretty sure food allergies have always been around. allergies to food is the Immune systems overreaction to substances in the food that would not really effect another person who does not have allergies. a hundred years ago I'm sure someones immune system must have reacted to peanuts or a piece of fish. the only difference between than and now would be that now we are eating alot of canned and processed foods where as in those days the food was much fresher and therefore less likely to cause a reaction.
