Why do fingernails get dirty when they have not encountered any dirt?!

you have to be touching something that is doing it you just can't see the dirt
there are so much dirt anywhere. we just don't notice it. our hands are more vulnerable coz we always use it in touching different things. these dirts are easilly trapped inside the finger nails.
well it might come from urself..mean our body collect dirt and u might have scratch urself without u realing it..so it's nothing to worry about..just wash them away..
everything u touch will prevent ur hands to get dirty
