Child's skin~ help?!

Question: Well my daughter has alot of nasty pimples all over her back, and I am always sad because she will walk around the house with a jumper on when it is 50 degrees!

My friend told me that I should run a bath and put salt in it, because it will make her pimples go away.
Is that true??

Will a bath with alot of salt help my daughters problem??
thanx!

The salt bath may help, but I doubt that it will make her pimples got away over night. Seeing a dermatologist will help diagnose her condition.

In the meantime, here are a few tips that a dermatologist might not mention. She should take the jumper off and replace it with a simple 100% cotton t-shirt. The jumper is probably just making her pimples worse since her skin can barely breathe through the jumper. Also, I tend to break out if I wear anything with wool in it, so if she is allergic to anything in the jumper, it may be contributing to the severity of her pimples. A 100% cotton t-shirt is a must.

Her shampoo may be another contributing factor. Since her shampoo washes off over her back, I would take a close look at the ingredients in her shampoo and conditioner. Sodium Laureth (or lauryl) sulfate can be a major skin irritant for some people. Stay away from any products that have this ingredient, and only use a very mild shampoo such as baby shampoo.

Does she have pimples only on her back, or also in other places? This is important since it may determine the root causes. If she also has dandruff (or pimples on her scalp), then it might be folliculitis and/or dermatis in addition to acne. Treatments for acne are different from those for folliculitis or dermatitis, but doctors tend to treat them all the same. Insist that the doctor take a sample of her skin and test for what yeast and/or bacteria is causing the pimples. Pimples are often caused by an overgrowth of yeast and bacteria. Make sure the doctor gives you a clear diagnosis. These conditions are too often misdiagnosed.

Diet plays another contributing factor. She should drink 8 glasses of water per day, stay away from sugar, milk, and wheat/gluten. Have her take a number of supplements such as vitamin C, zinc, magnesium, fatty acids and high quality probiotics.

No, I suggest she see a dermatologist and find out what is causing this problem.
