Why did you take the AIDS blood test? Were you nervous of the result?!

Question: Because my ex-husband was an unfaithful spouse. As soon as I found out, I left him and the next day went to the doctor for a complete exam and to be tested for all STDS. Yes, I was nervous but I think my anger was greater than my fear at that point. Anyway, thinks turned out great for me. I got a clean bill of Health and he ended up with 2 kids a month apart and two women that live within blocks of each other and child support out the Wazoo. Life is funny that way.

Don't be nervous. At this point if you did have it, there would be nothing you could do to change it, Knowing could help you in your future decisions and protect others. It could also help you to live longer. And, if you don't, please practice safe sex from now on or abstain until you are married and actively trying to have a child after you both have been tested. It is just not worth it. Remember, no glove no love works both ways.

I took a Rapid Oraquick test, which I got the results within 20 minutes. I work currently in a kitchen environment and sometimes people have been known to cut themselves while cutting up food - as precaution for me, if I come in contact with any blood while trying to help the injured person. I make it a point to go to my local health department and get tested promptly. My last test was October 2007, six months after possible exposure - I do it for my benefit, along with my co-workers and family.

I wasn't nervous of the result because I knew all the testing information when I went it. I went in with knowledge and came out the same as I was going in.

Good Luck.

My Bf and I took one before we had sex together. We wanted to make sure we were "clean" so to speak.

I was nervous. Once can never be too careful when sex is involved.
