Need advice about lump on face (a bit disgusting, sorry!)?!

Question: Ok, this is a follow-on from a question I asked a day or two ago. There is a lump on my cheek, it has been there for about 5 months. It is small but sticks right out, it's like a tiny red balloon. I have tried everything: leaving it alone, putting stuff on it, but because of where it is I keep catching it and it gushes blood because it sticks out loads and has it's own blood supply or something. It's definitely not a spot, no pus or anything comes out, just lots of blood.
It is driving me crazy and I can't seem to make it go away.
People will probably tell me to go to the doctor, but I'm embarassed about it, I can't even bring myself to ask a pharmacist. What can I do please?

I would probably tie a length of fine cotton around the base of it to cause necrosis. In other words, cut off the blood supply to it. It will turn black, die and drop off.
All being well. Otherwise you will have to go to the doctor.

if you dont go to tour doc you will have it forever.......cmon pluck up the courage and go

It sounds like a naevus (or nevus if you're American). It's the end of a broken blood vessel. It's completely harmless although, as you've found, it will bleed if you provoke it. They can be cauterised - that gets rid of the red lump but leaves a tiny white scar. Alternatively they can be removed with laser surgery.

Either you're going to have to summon up the courage to go and discuss this with your doctor, or you're stuck with a red lump and bloody pillows for the rest of your life.

you must go to the doctor, you may have a mouth infection, and will most likely need antibiotics to clear it up,forget the embarrassment, your health is far more important

the doctor has seen far worse.
make an appointment with your doctor...and thinkup imaginary diseases that the people infront of you might have, boils on their bottoms, abnormal shaped bits and bobs etc...then when you tell your doctor, you wont feel so embarassed. :o)

are you sure its not a mole ? you are descriding like one that been scratched open.if its a pimple then its a deep one the core is still there-let it alone for a few weeks see what happens-

You have nothing to be embarrassed about - it's something on your face, not something in a "private" part of your anatomy. Your doctor will think nothing at all of this, but will most certainly give you the necessary help to put your mind at rest and heal the problem with the correct and professional treatment. Think of it this way - it will be 5 minutes of what you call embarrassment, as opposed to forever and a day worrying about the whole thing. Come on, pick up that phone and make an appointment. It really is nothing to be embarrassed about. Good luck and I hope you sort it.

hay!!! noticed your question! ive the exact same thing! its awful isnt it!? ive had mine years, but the last couple of days, it flared up! really big on my check! its like a spot mutiple by 100!
i went to the doctors on yesterday, in and out job! he give a course of antibotics! am hoping they work, cause its really embarrsing, especially when you work in a shop, and people look at you!
the last time i went to the doctor about it, they told me it was a cyst! which is like a spot, but she didnt want to cut it out, because it would leave a scar on my face, i think now a scar may be better than this!
go to the doctors and get antibotics, they mite work, and hoping mine will!
let me no how you get on
