Should people who smoke and refuse to quit be entitled to lung transplants a sec!

Question: If they have had a lung transplant and continue smoking do you think they should be allowed another lung transplant if they need one?

no absolutely not. I"m amazed that they even got one in the first place. There are people out there who are dying (litterally) for a healthy lung, and would treat it like a gift, not smoke and see how quickly they can destroy it again. In fact, i think if doctors discover that the person has been smoking and this has caused them to need another transplant, they will be denied.

If they have spare "parts" and he had the money and state of mind to do so, then it's not really up to anyone else.

Let their transplant coordinator know. They should not be on the list if they are smoking. They should have signed a "good stewardship" agreement which would definitely exclude smoking. Oh, and no. It isn't right for them to take the precious resources away from somebody who would be a good steward.
