My son will be 18 months does anyone have concrete info. regarding the 18 mon. s!

Question: Most mothers of autistic children directly link the autistic regression to a vaccination. I am one. Some even believe that it is not a specific shot, but a buildup from multiple shots - they contain some pretty nasty things to be injecting into a developing body. As far as concrete info, that is near impossible with the pharma co's who manufacture the vaccines controlling the studies and money. Vaccination is a multi-million dollar industry, and many in the FDA have ties to the industry.

My best advice to any parent concerned is to delay the shots at least. There is no reason to not delay. There isn't any outbreak about to threaten you child. When pediatricians started pushing new vaccines for my children when we were vaccinating, I just calmly told them not today, we want to investigate the vaccine and illness more before making the decision. My pediatrician still asked every time I saw him. But, I said the same until I had made my decision. Then I just said "No, thank-you"

As a matter of fact, we did have a serious disease that there is a vaccination for - AFTER we fully vaccinated. Those who weren't vaccinated DIDN'T get it. It was whooping cough. It was horrible, and started our study on vaccines and their efficacy. We eventually decided to discontinue ALL vaccinations. A great book to read while trying to make the decision for your family is "Vaccines: Are They Really Safe and Effective" by Neil Z. Miller. You can buy it at http://www.thinktwice.com - they also have other wonderful resources for information. You may also want to pick up a copy of "Evidence of Harm" Think Twice also has great information about exemption policies in every state. You can't be forced to vaccinate on a specific time table or at all.

If autism were truly a genetic disease and not related to some environmental factor, then how is it that is has become epidemic? I've never heard of a genetic epidemic - have you?

EDIT: There is still thimerosol in some vaccines, including Flu Shots. The FDA doesn't require that it be reported under a certain amount, others they call trace amounts. It is still used in processing, but supposedly "removed". It also has various names. There are also some other nasties in the vaccines other than mercury that could easily be culprits when injected directly into the blood stream, bypassing the filtering system - and into the bloodstream of an small body just trying to esablish its defense mechanisms. Also, the thimerosol was supposedly removed at a certain time, but the thimerosol containing vaccines weren't recalled. They were still in use until used up, then the new vaccines would take their place. The kids diaged with autism now are are ones who were still being vaccinated as infants with thimerosol laced vaccines. Most diags come during early school years.

To my knowledge it just isn't the 18 month shot, but all of the different/multiple vaccinations that are babies get these days. I was just told that these vaccinations should be spaced out. There was also a study of a certain ingredient/chemical that was in one of the vaccinations that was removed a few years ago (This may have been linked to autism, although maybe not proven).

they had said that it was the mercury in the vaccines but almost all doctors have removed the mercury vaccines and use ones without the mercury. I would first ask your doctor if the vaccines they use has mercury in it. Next you have to find out the laws in your state, in 2006 some states changed the laws so that now you have to get your child vaccinated for them to be allowed to attend school.

I think there is only anecdotal evidence no concrete scientific research evidence of vaccinations causing autism.

There is not good concrete evidence to say that shots with mercury are causing autism. I worked with students who had there shots spaced out and students who had all the shots in one doctors visit because that is what their insurance would pay for. Think about families that have siblings with autism, there must be some genetic factor. There are no answers but a lot of research is being done to try and fine some. Try www.autism-society.org for some more in depth information.

From what I know, there is no direct link between shots and Autism - some have said it might be the Mercury (which no longer is in vaccines) and other theories include the shots in a buildup.

Something to think about - I (along with my siblings, and pretty much every other child my age) was vaccinated with the same vaccines as the children with Autism. A professor I had once theorized that it wasn't the vaccine itself, but some genetic disposition that reacted with the vaccines - children who have this genetic "makeup" could become autistic, children without it are not. Just a theory.

Here's some sites that might offer some insight.

Mercury (thimerisol) is believed by many people to be the culprit in causing autism, so its use has been discontinued. No vaccines contain thimerisol anymore, so you don't need to worry about the vaccines.

Researchers just guessed that mercury used as a preservative in numerous vaccines might be the cause for autism because the number of autisim cases started increasing around the same time as mercury started being used in vaccines. Erring on the side of caution, mercury was discontinued in vaccines. In the time since mercury was discontinued, the rate of increase in autism has actually accelerated, so researchers were obviously wrong about vaccines causing the problem, but they were right about the mercury.

More recent research has shown that autism appears to be inherited genetically, although it still seems to require something to trigger autism, such as mercury. The amount of mercury in the environment has been rising steadily, and it seems that the cumulative effect of all sources of mercury is what matters, so vaccines have played a minor role - the mercury in the environment is where most exposure comes from. The biggest sources of mercury for many people are tuna, sword fish, and other large predatory fish. Its much more important to limit the intake of high-mercury fish than avoiding medicines with thimerisol - some fish have 10,000 times more mercury than the vaccines that used to contain thimerisol. Not all fish have high mercury, for example, flounder and wild salmon have less mercury than some cattle.

Listen to zambitii.
Postpone or skip the shots entirely. They are not safe.

Excerpt from a letter by Boyd Haley, Professor of Chemistry, University of Kentucky, Lexington, KY
"As expected by science, extensive searching for a genetic cause of autism has not turned up a significant find that would explain the recent increased rate in autism. The latest genetic find, at best, might explain 0.5% of autism causation. Most agree that a genetic predisposition is likely (like those that lead to low glutathione levels), but that a toxic exposure is absolutely needed. Consider also, that this increased toxic exposure would have had to occur in all 50 states at about the same time as all states have reported similar increases in autism rates. Only something like the government recommended vaccine program fits this need for a time dependent, uniform exposure of a toxin throughout all the states."

There is still mercury in the flu shots, every person that gets one will be overdosed with mercury.
It is still used in the manufacturing process of other vaccines and no independant testing is done to verify thermasol amounts.

There are many other carcinogens and neurotoxins in vaccines. For a list of them look in the science section here http://www.vaclib.org/
This pioneer doctor has inf you should look at.

Many parents think vaccines damaged thier children and I am one of them.
