It is probably all in your mind.
As long as you haven't been touching your brothers hair and then yours you should be fine.
Take a shower and wash your hair really good, it might help ease your mind.

why aren't your parents doing anything to get rid of your brothers lice?

its quite possible that you can easily get lice from him, because lice can tranfer easily.. say u sat on the couch in the same place and rested your head the same place.. or used to same towel or hung your hat next to his ectect.. i highly suggest along with washing all your sheets and pillows that you also use the same medication for your hair that your brother is also using..all stuffed animals should go in black garbage bags for 2 weeks.. all clothes washed.. also remind your parents that the car needs cleaned out too..(when i was a kid the neighbors kept getting lice and the dad kept cleaning and cleaning and finally he figured out that he never cleaned the car out!
goodluck

The best way to avoid lice is to keep your hair up around your brother and not to touch his hair. The itching is a pyscological reaction to knowing you might have it but you probably dont.

to be on the safe side i would treat your scalp to if you are worried about it but i know the best cure of all it gets it gone with one treatment only first use the lice shampoo wash it out good then buy a shower cap put baby oil in your hair to totally cover it put on the shower cap go to bed in the morning wash off all the baby oil and then comb out any nits and you are done and make sure you wash all bed and clothes that you used and put all stuffed animals in a air tight bag for 3 weeks and spray the carpets

Hi Lindsey, all these are answers are exactly right. My daughter had it a few years back too. Don't freak out just be careful and take these precautions mentioned. Bless his heart, he can't help it, he has a lot to deal with too; itching and the whole process of getting rid of it is terrible! Suggest to your parents to shave his head, that'll get rid of it. Do it outside though. Good luck! : )
