Could 5g of paracetamol in 12 hours cause an overdose?!

Question: Not unless you are particularly sensitive to it. That is not to say it wont cause liver damage or give rise to other problems, but not an overdose using the more common use of the term overdose.
It is above the recommended dose, so you should not take that much without the direction of a physician. If you are taking that much to relieve pain, I would say its not working and you may need something stronger. There are pharmacy medicines with codeine in them that you could try assuming you have no allergy to codeine. Otherwise see your Doctor if pain persists (Hmm I think I picked up that last statement from somewhere else)

Be safe, be sage

Possibly child or adult? How many days have you been taking it? Are you drinking alcohol?

Your not meant to take more than 8 tablets every 24 hours. Taking more would be considered overdosing.
