What are the signs of a kidney infection?!

Question: Fever, flank pain (back pain), burning or pain with urination, blood in urine (may not be visible), nausea.

Answers: Fever, flank pain (back pain), burning or pain with urination, blood in urine (may not be visible), nausea.

Possible ache in flank. Possible discomfort urinating, though this usually indicates an infection or pathology much 'lower down'. Fever and flushing could be present. This can be serious, very serious. A bladder infection is one thing but a kidney infection is a far more concerning issue.

See a doctor who can quickly determine from a blood test if you have an infection.

When I had one, it started out as a urinary tract infection and then spread. I had a great deal of back pain and then got very sick. I was running a high fever and literally couldn't get out of bed. My mother would bring me tylenol for the fever and it would take me an hour or so to find the strength to pick it up off the night stand to take it. I don't remember much else from that week. It was bad.... I think that's the sickest i've been in my life.

Flank pain( pain at the sides), urgency/frequency of urination, fever.. sometimes u can see blood in urine, but sometimes might not be able to visually see..
