One-sided sore throat?!


Question: i have a horrible sore throat! its only on the right side & my right lymphnode is swollen really bad. other than that i feel 100% normal! no cough, no drainage, no fever... nothing! does anyone know why its just on one side and how to fix it?

A common complaint. It means that the tonsil or lymph node on that side of your throat has become infected. Strep throat is the most common infection that can cause it, though, with no fever it is a bit less likely. Cat scratch disease (sounds bad, but is really just a certain kind of bacterial infection) is another common cause, especially in the younger population. But any bacterial infection can be unilateral (one-sided). If it has been there longer than about 3 days, especially if it is getting worse after that time, I would see a physician about it. You might need treatment.

I have that. I usually sllep on that side and it is from my sinuses draining at night or they get dried out from using a space heater while I am sleeping.
I take sinus medicine for it or asprin and drink lots of fluids seems to help.
