I think I'm allergic to cheese (don't laugh!). how common is this?!

when i was younger i was allergic to it. i got rashes from eating cheese tho as i got older i kinda grew out of it.
i think if the symptoms are so obvious you should see the doc.

Since you said certain cheeses it's probably a common ingredient in those cheeses and you don't want to eat other foods with that in it. So see a doctor and find out what's going on.

The fact that you tingle makes me think it is a true allergy to milk, not just lactose intolerance.

Go see an allergist for Skin Prick Testing and RAST (blood testing). Whatever shows positive, stay away from. Reaction trumps results. So if your dairy test is negative, you should avoid anyway.

Both of my children are allergic to dairy. In the beginning it's a pain, but it becomes second nature to aviod dairy. Substitutions are easy. Silk soy milk is really good.

i recommend a doctor to be 100% sure. but it is very common. my friends have it. its also called being lactose intolerant. good luck. i hope i helped you out. (:

I was once very allergic to milk. I learned a lot the past 20 years as I have studied to accomplish prevention of my then stage 4 Lymphoma Cancer. Allergies to dairy products are actually quite common. We can either be allergic to the sugars in it or the proteins in it.
I learned about the value of drinking alkalized water last March. Usually people with allergies have an acidic body. By drinking this water, the acids are flushed from our cells, the nutrition can then get in and our bodies are happy and we feel balanced and health can return.
I drink 1 gallon of this water daily. It is easy to drink because this particular machine that alkalizes the water also micro-clusters the water -- reduces the clusters of 14-15 molecules down to 4-6 molecules per cluster making it seem lighter. Also, the alkalizing process actually makes it taste sweeter I found. When I have had to resort in travels to return to the drinking of Distilled or Reverse Osmosis waters, they now taste very acid to me!!

I have to share my twin grandsons' experiences with this water. One had enlarged tonsils for several years and they were getting huge so my daughter finally decided to call a doctor who she was then told was on vacation for 2 weeks. Time passed and then before Christmas she noticed that one tonsil was reduced to almost normal and the other was half the original size. She believes his drinking the water from my machine is what had to have made the change!! The other twin who has been allergic to chlorine can now swim in public pools without getting respiratory problems as long as he is drinking the alkalized water!! We are so pleased!! By the way neither of them even drink 1 quart of this water a day and yet it affects their health in these good ways. We live 13 miles apart so they come a couple times a week to fill their bottles so it is not even fresh out of the machine most of the time for them.

Aged cheeses cause some people problems, especially in conjunction with certain medications. Look for a common ingredient or characteristic in the cheeses that give you trouble.

well............just take it with a splat of the old Worcester sauce then.........

It is probably the mold they make the cheese with. You may have a worse reaction if you ignore it and keep eating cheese. An allergist could test you for mold allergies.
