Strep throat or mono? and how did i get it?!
Question: I have a really bad soar throat. I've lost my voice like 3 times today, and when it does come back, its really scraggly and rough sounding. (sorry im not very good at describing. haha)
My throat it all red and it has white-ish, yellow-ish small blotches on it. I know its probably strep, but could it be mono?
Is it spread through kissing? Because yesterday i kissed my friend and the next day is when it started hurting, but i heard it takes a while for it to take effect.
So do you think its mono or strep or just a bad soar throat?

Its 95% strep. I had mono... no sore throat really. I dint get out of bed for a week. And had to stay home for over 3 weeks. It was the most terrible time of my life. I also had hepatitis A because I dint know I had mono and drank an entire case of beer on day. (NFL draft all day party) so I woke up with a really bad hangover that lasted a month. so...youve got strep. your lucky because its treatable. its also contagious. very contagious so look out and take care.
Could be either one, but mono is spread through saliva contact so if you kissed them on the cheek I doubt you would have mono.
If you are not wanting to sleep all day then it isn't mono. See your doctor for a strep culture.
