Why would a Dr. give chemo to someone if they don't have cancer?!

Question: They want my uncle to receive chemo but say his cancer did not return, why would they do this?

We all have abnormal cells. Since he does not currently have cancer but has a history he is more susceptible and could still have abnormal cell growth and chemotherapy could impair those cells from metastasizing.

my mum also had cancer and was on chemo,it seems weird that they give it if theres nothing there, with my experience,my mum had it in her stomach and she had an operation, then they thought they got it all so didnt give chemo then it came back too badly that they couldnt do anything so maybe they are trying to play it safe by trying to get anything that is there as a precaution. If hes had cancer sometimes they will keep on with the chemo a while just to be sure. But I honestly thought they only give you chemo if you have cancer there even if a little they will try to get it before its too big.Hope this helps a bit,all the best.

Probably to make money. Most doctors say if they had a family member with cancer. They wouldn't give it to their own family members. Chemo kills the good and the bad cells. You need to ask more questions. Something even with chemo cancer still comes back.
