I don't know if your spouse would wake up, but eventually your brain would tell your body to react. Whenever you have an apneic episode, you are no longer breathing in oxygen or breathing out carbon dioxide. Eventually, this level of carbon dioxide builds up in your blood to a point where the receptors in the respiratory center of your brain tells your body, "hey, we're dying here because we are not breathing-- get it together!!" Your body responds by taking a breath in some kind of way whether it's by gasping, breathing, or moving around until you take a breath. The only way that I could see your spouse waking up during one of these episodes is if she is a REALLY light sleeper and hears it when you stop breathing, otherwise I wouldn't bank on it. But your body is smart; it will save you from yourself.

Possibly.

My husband has seizures, and by me always being worried about it, I sleep light waiting for the slightest movements in the bed.

I don't know if you would wake up for her. Sleep apnea is harder than epilepsy. You have to listen, not feel. It's a hard thing to deal with. I'm not sure if this helped any, sorry.

well, if you're not breathing,I'd assume you would not be making any noise. People generally don't wake in the middle of the night unless a loud noise, like a picture falling off the wall. So, not she may not wake up.

There is no way someone can guarantee that they will wake up in that event. Get a C-PAP machine. You obviously need it.

I doubt that. Do you have life insurance?

No, that's false information.....That's the best answer I can give you......

If your spouse is in a deep sleep it would take more then you stopping your breathing to wake her up. Most likely you would wake up first, struggling with your Apnea, before your wife would. And also you may not wake up if your wife is in jeopardy if you are sound asleep.
I wish you well.

If she is anything like my wife she will know when you stop breathing. Fact being we are abnoxious snorers who choke while sleeping and stop breathing. Just had my tonsils and uvula cut out to try and get rid of the problem. Hurt like a ***** so I would not recomend it. Lost 18 pounds in a week and a half. Still snoring though. Good luck
