Do the things I eat affect my skin?!


Question: Would I get acne from eating certain foods? Or does it vary from individual to individual? If food does affect one's skin, what foods would make the skin better?

There is such a debate about food/acne. I'd like to say most acne is your hygiene and hormones - and food (and stress) play little - but I also believe we are what we eat so - try to eat well rounded.
Foods rich in vitamins a e and c and zinc are great for your skin - (green leafy veggies and fruits)
Also drink a lot of water. It won't clear your skin up (as you have to fight it head on with acne wash/creams)
but once you get on top of this all things help your skin (eating and drinking well)...

You could get acne from eating certain foods, if you happen to be allergic to said food. Since people tend to be allergic to different things (milk, wheat, strawberries, etc.--but also different metals [which can cause contact dermatitis], etc.), the best thing to do if you think you're getting allergic reactions that are causing acne is to get a "patch test" from a dermatologist. Here, the dermatologist sticks needles dipped in tiny amounts of food/chemical irritant into a grid drawn in your back, in order to discover what you, personally, are allergic to.
It's kind of scary, but the only sure way to find out quickly.

Your skin could get blotchier from eating certain foods. What you eat definitely affects how your skin looks. For acne, water and watermelon are good, because water definitely can make your skin look healthier.

Yes..all that junk food and sweets and fried food makes you and your skin not healthy and in some cases, our body reacts to all that **** we put in and it forms acne or not healthy hair or health problems. I had this problem and suddenly i got acne which made me depressed...so.. for a few months i was eating healthy, not fried, a lot of vegetables and fruits...A lot of water!!! as much water as you can drink!!! low fat and i minimized the sweets and i was surprised when i saw spots stopped to appear and my skin was sooo healthy, my body was healthy, my hair were beautiful and i was feeling sooo goodd!!!! But OK..if u really love all that stuff, u can eat once a week something u really love and u know it will cause spot or something..just don't do this daily... :P
