Is Amoxicillin an effective cure for Chlamydia??!
Question: Trying to study for a pop quiz given in my Intro to Medical Studies class, and this is supposed to be on the internet, however, I can't find it!! All I have been able to find on the internet is that it is effective against gonorrhea..... Any help from someone in the medical field would be greatly appreciated.

Chlamydia is a gram neg bacteria, wihich cause a yellowish discharge. I researched your question online and found out the following antibiotics of choice: (but not in order):
Zithromax 1 gm x 1, Doxycycline 7days, ESS 7 days, Amoxicillin x 7 days, Levaquin x 7 days.
So yes Amox. will work! ...and I had fun doing it! :O)
amoxicillin is an ant-biotic. so, i highly doubt it.
I still wonder whether Amoxicillin is effective against gonorrhoea which commonly respond well to Ciprofloxacin or Ofloxacin or Cefotaxime.
Chlamydia responds well to Doxicycline or Azithromycin. Sometime, Erythromycin is combined with any one of those drugs.
