There are natural methods to counter side effects of Chemotherapy, some of them are as follows:

1 Drink plenty of water.
2 For bad taste of chemo etc. have frequent and small sips of mixture of Ginger & Lemon juices.
3 Avoid going out, particularly in crowds.
4 Take a walk early morning.
5 Do Pranayam, Yoga and Meditation more than one hour in early morning and evening (two hours before meal).
6 Eat very simple food like chapati, vegetable, rice, dal, fresh & naturally sweet butter milk.
7 Have your meals at right time - morning meal at about 11 am and evening meal at about 6.30-7 pm.
8 Eat only if and when you are hungry.
9 Your meals and snacks should be taken at small quantities.
10 If you drink milk, drink only cow milk.
11 Avoid all intakes organically grown and without genetic manipulation like milk of Jersy Cow, unpolished rice & dals, hybrid grains etc.

I would suggest you consult with a natural health care professional such as a Naturopathic doctor, Chinese medicine practitioner etc.
There are complimentary treatments using nutritional and herbal substances which can decrease chemotherapy side effects. Acupuncture as well can help the body regenerate and grow stronger.
get well soon.

better seek direction from your family doctor...

You have to ask your oncologist or hospital nutritionist.

Do not listen to some quack naturopathic practitioner. They know nothing about chemo and the interactions between their stuff and the drugs you are receiving.

The only "natural" things I use are ginger and peppermint Altoids since both herbs are anti-nausea. But 'toids are so strong, I'm not enjoying them very much. Though I loved them before chemo. Oh well.

So far I haven't found anything. I've thought about pot but I don't know anybody here that does that and my parents would??????they would not be pleased. I've taken a bunch of different stuff but nothing works much. When I can, SLEEPING is the best. But when I want to sleep I can't... I really like laying in the bathtub with the shower on when I'm nauseous and achey but that only last as long as the hot water. Have you tried the marijuana pills? I don't know what they are called but I read they work with some people. I don't know what I take or have taken. It changes all the time it seems like. I hope you get to feeling better.Oh, my Mom got some stuff from a health food store. Some kind of tea. Hot tea. pretty nasty stuff but it works sometimes with me.

Ginger is good for the body as well as helping with nausea. Cinnamon can also help with nausea. Best thing to do is to ask your Oncologist if it is okay to take supplements first. Mine said they are okay but others might not and it also might be different because if the type of cancer. I also take Zinc and vitamin C to help protect me as well as a good multi-vitamin.

Drink Dashamoolarista and ashwagnadharista, one table spoon each twice a day. Alternatively, drinking Indian MUlbeery is also helpful.
