Was this an asthma attack?!
Question: I am allergic to cats and dogs. Have been my whole life. I had a cat about 6 years ago and all of a sudden I started having these attacks where I would stop breathing. It was like an asthma attack but I never ever had this kind of attack before in my life and never had asthma before.
I had to be rushed to the hospital 2 times because I thought i was going to die from these breathing attacks.
I asked the doctor if it was asthma and he said No. I'm sorry but It definitely felt like it. SHould I get a second opinion? Was it an allergy inflicted asthma attack?
Once i got rid of the cat, I never had that problem again.

Sounds like you are allergic to cats and that triggered an asthma attack...
I have asthma and if I forget to take Claritin and happen to be at someone's house where a cat lives, it's only a matter of time before my nose starts to run, my ears burn and my breathing becomes more labored until I have to use my inhaler and remove myself from the source of the problem.
If you haven't been tested for asthma, you see a doctor and get medication to help prevent the attacks, like Advair, an anti-inflammatory to keep passageways open as a daily maintenance and a quick acting inhaler like albuterol.
Good luck...
you probably have such a sever allergy it felt that way. so allergies make the air ways close up and you can't breath so that's probably why it felt that way
