Hey, I've had that too.. But I don't know, the case may be different, it sure isn't melanoma cancer. But, it could be an ingrown or fungus like some other answerers have said... its always better to check witha podiatris to make sure what it may be....

oh my god! that is sick! you have fungus! see the doctor soon please!

could very well be a in growen toenail.. try putting some oriagel on the sides of it 2 numb it and trim the sides of the nail.. keeping your toenails trimmed every 2 weeks or so, will help a lot : ) bummer eh ~

you havent said what the pain is like, or where it is, apat from in your toe nail? have you showed it to your parents, or a doctor or anybody i healthcare?

melanoma cancer maybe. You need to go to the doc.

Dear Julissa,

Its really hard to say what could be going on with your nail without more information.

If you are having pain and tenderness on the SIDE of your toenail and its puffy and red, then that is most likely an ingrown toenail, which basically is just your toenail growing out to the side digging into your skin instead of upward like its supposed to. Now if the actual toenail hurts when you press it or something it could very well be fungus. And when fungus gets into a nail, whether it be a finger or toe, it can sometimes be pretty difficult to get rid of unless you take a drug by mouth that only your doctor could prescribe. A small percentage of people can benefit from putting some white vinegar on it a couple of times a day. Make sure to keep it as clean as possible and don't put any nail polish or vaseline on it. Both of these will prevent it from getting the air/oxygen it needs to heal and will trap in more bacteria. If you want to use a water based lotion, that's fine.

I'm sorry I can't offer more help but you've given me very little to go on. If you would like to provide me with more information, I would be happy to follow-up with you. Feel free to IM or email me. Good luck to you!

Luv

You need to see a doctor and get some medical help for your toe. It could be infected or it could be scar tissue but a doctor needs to take care of this as soon as possible.
