I had Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma pretty bad 7+ years ago. I am in total remission. But I get tested twice a year. Starting next year I get to go for testing once a year. I look at the odds of getting NHL again as better then the average guy getting it the first time. So I get checked out regularly. Yes I can get it again, but by having those checkups it will never get to stage 4 like I was originally. The odds are that it will be eradicated a lot faster and a lot easier the second time. I never worry about it, two hours a year for a blood test and 2 hours a year to be told I am healthy is nothing.

Just get tested regularly. It should only take a blood test. Live life to the fullest and remind your self that you don't have time for cancer again. Attitude really helps.

there is a small chance you could. i dont want to freak you out but if doctors had even missed the miniscule amount of cancer u could still have it, but you should be visiting the doctor quite regularly for checkups anyway! have u been doing this...iD SAY YOUR OK N JUST WORRIED THOUGH! ITS GONE!!! DONT WASTE TIME OF YOUR LIFE THINKING IF U HAVE IT!!

Yes, there is a chance you can relapse although after a certain amount of time in remission, the chances of it happening are much lower.

In theory - you can. But you should think positive: you've beat it once and it won't be coming back :-)

I am an aml patient. I was first diagnosed 3 years ago. Went through chemo. Relapsed one year ago. Went through chemo and transplant. It is possible for me to replapse again.

so yeah, its possible.

You are also at an increaed risk for the other types of leukemia, lymphoma, and possibly brain cancer (some of the chemos that you may or may not have had like ara-c/cytrabine and vp-16 are a risk for brain cancer.. and ironically also used to treat certain brain cancers)
