Chances of normal delivery with genital herpes?!

Question: i have recently been diagnosed with herpes, and was wondering if i decide to have another child what my chances are for having a vaginal delivery? i am so upset, because i dont know where it came from, my boyfriend nor i have ever had a breakout or any symptoms of this before, and i just had one (thats how i found out, in the ER) however, i am really wanting to have another child one day, and i really wanted to have a vaginal delivery (that was a very special bonding point for me with my other children) and just thinking about not being able to have one saddens me. what are the chances of this happening?

thanks in advance!!

as long as you do not have an active lesion when the time comes to give birth, you can have a vaginal delivery. If you do have one, then they do a cesearean.

I think most OBs are suggesting suppressive therapy at least 3 months prior to delivery, so it is possible as long as no active lesions. talk with your Doctor.

get regular check ups with your doctor. it depends if u have an outbreak at the time of delivery then u may have to have a c-cection in order to prevent passing herpes onto your child. if there is no outbreak then u should ok for a vaginal delivery. talk with your gyno or doctor if u are planning on having another child.
