Why is the skin on my hand cracking and peeling?!

Question: Okay well, I never had a problem with sensitive skin but now I'm having an issue with the skin on only my right hand. It gets scaly and almost calloused and then starts to peel, crack and bleed. It's only on 3 fingers but it's very painful. It heals slowly but then recurrs every so often. If anyone has an idea of what it can possibly be please clue me in before I go see my Dr. about it. Thanks.

I have the same, off and on, on my feet. I hate it. It might be a form of psoriasis or maybe eczema. See a dermatologist, but maybe also get a second opinion too, on what the first one tells you. I'm not sure they all know what they're talking about sometimes.

use vaseline intensive care

if that doesnt work, get something more expensive

consult your doctor

you need to moisturise it everyday!!

I used to get something similiar, but its because I had to work somewhere that required me to wash my hands all the time? Is this the case for you? You should probably go see a doctor

What are you doing with your right hand young lady?

winter tends to dry skin out, use lotion. if that does not fix it it might be a skin condition that a dr can fix

use hand cream very frequently after u wash ur hands and dry them very well and dont quit on doing this
i think this is due to cold weather
it happens to me when i forget to use hand cream
but if u think its serious like u cant stand the pain u shud see a doctor

hmm.. i think your fine! im guessing you have eczema since its on your hands.. its not contagious so dont worry about spreading it.. what you can get at stores is a cream called hydrocortisone.. yeahh... soo your fine! buttt the gay thing about it is that youll have it forever! and its very bad during the winter time because the cold air makes your skin dry

Hands and feet are common cracking sites. But superficial cracking can occur anywhere, especially the delicate skin of shins, forearms and cheeks, says Dr. Christianson. No matter what the location, you can send those cracks packing with the right treatment.

Soak and salve. Restore moisture to mildly cracked areas by using an over-the-counter humectant, such as Lac-Hydrin Five. Humectants pull water into skin and hold it there, says Dr. Swinyer. Remember to keep bathing short
