Why am I so exhausted after shingles?!
Question: I had a severe pain down my right side and under my arm and after at least 4 visits to different doctors they decided that I had shingles. The pain has gone at last but i feel so weak and tired and it is taking ages to get enough energy to go back to work. I can only just manage getting up and doing household stuff. Shopping is a major operation. Is this typical and can I do anything to hurry things up? I am into my 5th week. I am in my 50's and was fit and energetic before this.

Shingles is a very debilitating illness, it takes time to recover. You could go back to your Doctors and tell him how you feel.
I suffer from Shingles for the past three years. My infection manifested itself in my right arm and neck.I just woke up one morning and my entire right arm was blistered, I went immediatly to my GP and he diagnosed shingles. You are right they do drain tour energy.
