Increasing circulation to any injured skin helps healing. Don't rub the site or scratch at it. Put warm moist cloths over the site for 15-20 min 2-3x day so the body can heal itself.

If it's bruised looking plan on 7-10 days for the bruise to be reabsorbed. If the skin is broken try some antibiotic ointment gently rubbed into the site.

We used to wear scarves around our necks or turtlenecks (which is normal winterwear, thank heavens) to cover the site. Makeup usually draws attention to the hickie unless you have professional stage makeup (called pancake makeup).

Green colored foundation neutralizes a red hickie, then pat your normal color over the top.

Other than that...it'll take time. Tell your friend to NEVER do that again. If he respects you won't need to ask twice. And lay the groundrules in advance about what you do/don't want. I don't know about you, but I rarely enjoyed hickies because I knew I'd be stuck with the results for ages...which ruined the mood completely.

ok this is silly but I used to do this when I was younger. My friends used to take a lipstick top or something cylinder then put it on the hickey and twist it. Or you can get a hot spoon and place it on their. Or worse case scenario make-up

try a ice cube and if it doesnt work try some makeup

Cover it with a band-aid and say you got stung by a scorpion, bee, etc.
