Has anyone ever had to wear a Holter Moniter for heart palpitations?!

Question: I am wearing one now and the doctors think its stress but even when i'm laying down watching TV my heart still does one bulbus beat in place of 2 regular beats. Anyone ever experienced anything like this?? If so, what was your prognosis?

Yes I also had to wear a Holter Monitor for heart palpitation. It turned out that it was from drinking to much coffee and smoking. But ever since I quit smoking and cut down on the caffeine it hardly ever happens. I can't say that it never happens but it normally is when I am under a lot of stress. I hope yours turns out to be just something simple like mine was. Good luck!

Yes i had that problem and the doctor said i had stress because my 24 hour holter monitor was normal. Also at that time my mom had just died.also i heard that going through menopause can cause palpatation.i to experience that when relaxing but i was still stress by my mother death i was holding it inside.

yes, mine was due to too much caffiene. However, there can be many reasons for this,so it is good that they have a holter moniter to find out your answer..hopefully it is benign..as in too much caffiene etc..

I have put many holter devices on people and worn it on a few occassions as part of various clinical trials.

Relax, let the holter do its stuff , which will give your doctors the best sample of your hearts tracing possible so that they can sought out what is happen and provide you with the best care. Good luck.

sometimes your heart has an abhorrent beat, one that comes from a pacemaker cell outside the normal conduction pathway, it can feel really unusual, just as you describe, especially if it does it a few times in a row, it is normal to have up to 200 or so of these beats a day, most people don't feel them, some do. i hope that, that is all they find in your tracing. relax hit the button when you feel anything, and see what happens. stress and anxiety, caffiene, and alcohol can all increase the amount of these beats.
goodluck.
