Heart palpitations?!

Question: Every once and a while I will get a heart palpitation, I do have untreated high blood pressure normally around 140/90, usually when I get them there is no other symptoms, however today I am having them and I am light headed and very sleepy even though I just woke up and had a full eight hours or sleep. I don't have sleep apnea and it is hard to tell if I have shortness of breath since I have asthma. I also have a slight headache however I think it is my sinuses

With history of high blood pressure, asthma, and feeling light headed, headachey, you need to see your doctor (if your doc knows you well, a call might suffice for advice).
Why?
Maybe you have sinus infection or stuffiness, but with hypertension you need to stay away from most sinus medicines (decongestants in particular). With palpitations and headache, you need your BP evaluated so make sure it's ok.
Tell the doctor or practitioner everything you wrote here.

Anytime there was allot of colds and flu virus going around my body would tell me it's fighting the exposure by palpitations, mild headache and fatigue, this may be similar in your case. I was prone to episodes of atrial fib when my potassium fell low. Thyroid problems can sometimes manifest as what you've described.
