Help I have thin skin and I'm only 18!?!

Question: I have relatively thin skin and I'm still pretty young. After i shave my legs, I get all these little red bumps; sometimes I'll have it when I'm shaving and the razor cuts it and causes it to bleed. :[ What causes thin skin and how can I get rid of it?? Please help!

I'm very pale & thin- skinned and I've had this my whole life.

First, if you can afford it, don't shave - use cream hair remover like Nair.

Second: if you must shave, shave with oil, not soap. Oil keeps the skin slick and the razor glides over it, & it also keeps you from shaving too close.

Third: never shave UP - shave from your knees DOWN - it really stops those nasty nicks

Don't get waxed - it tears our skin to shreds. I had ONE waxing and still have an area that isn't quite the same color as the rest.

An electric razor also is a blessing - stops those annoying red spots. I also use plenty of moisturizer on my legs [or they look awful ] a thick cream like Eucerin (cheap) or one with aloe in it is what I sleep in, and a lighter cream like Vaseline Intensive Care is for days.

Eat a healthy balanced diet so your skin stays strong and flexible. Unfortunately, you can't thicken skin.. it's what you'll have forever, but you can make it look better.

are you sure you have "thin skin" maybe you are getting ingrown hairs because you are supposed to shave in the direction the hair grows. hope this helps...

Thin skin is nice to touch.. Why don't you try hypoalergenic depilation wax?

sounds like razor burn....it happens to me too..

Hi!

I think you get cut because your skin is soft. When I first started shaving, I use to cut myself too.

It should improve when your skin get used to shaving.

When shaving your legs, use shaving foam, and shave downward towards your feet, go slow and be gentle, that should help a little.

A little bit of baby powder should ease the rashes.

No Sweety your skin is just fine it may of course be sensitive and it may be allergic to Nickel your doctor can give you a simple test to determine that the red bumps make me suspect that. Otherwise use a really good lubricant on your legs when you shave
