How can you tell if you have food poisoning or the stomach flu?!

Question: I think I have had both in my life and they feel pretty similar. Naseau, vomiting, diarrhea. Is there a tell tale sign that you have one or the other?

The difference is, "When" it happened. If right after you eat something like a fish that wasn't cooked all the way, then have the runs or vomiting, then you have food poisoning.

ADDITION: By, "Right after" i mean like.. a half-hour later.

usually if its food poisoning, you'll get sick your next meal. or a little afterwards..Then you have diahrea and vomitting maybe at the same time. It usually continues every so often for the next couple days. usually nothing will help unless you use a suppository.
