Question: Fortunately, I'm only on this for 7 days.
Its says to take 3 - (20MG) tablets the first 2 days and then, 2 - (20MG) tablets the remaining 5 days. My doctors office advised me to take the pills EARLY in the day, to try and prevent the sleeping issues (i.e, side effect - difficulty sleeping). I'm concerned about the weight gain.
My issue is that I'm constantly eating. I'm never full.

I have been on Prednisone many times.
It can make you feel like you are going to die if you cannot get more and more and more food. It only lasts while you are on it though. They do not prescribe it for very long because it can do some tough things to your body long term.
If you are concerned about the weight gain, watch what you eat. Eat filling good for you foods. Oatmeal is a good example. Anything high in fiber. You can also drink a lot of water. This helps you get that full feeling. If you want to, you can add those little packages of flavoring to the water.
Just because you are constantly hungery doesn't mean you have to eat chips, cookies, and ice cream. Eat smart and you won't have to worry about too much weight gain. Do a little more activity, which shouldn't be a problem because steroids usually boost your energy. Don't overdo it though.
At the end of the seven days, everything should go back to normal. No worries!
I was on that medication for a long time when I was younger for pnuemonia and asthma and I've had a weight problem ever since. It is just one of the side effects.
Prednisone is given to WOMEN and GIRLS.. and some transsexuals... I have never heard of it given to a MAN for ANY reason.
well yes it may increase your weight but once you are off it shouldn't affect you drugs don't stay in your system for a lifetime..... anyway its a steroid. and disregard what it stays above.

Yes, Prednisone does increase hunger, so be sure and keep healthy snacks - cut up veggies grain breads, etc - around, so that you can snack healthy.
Another thing it does though, is it lowers your immunity, so be sure and stay far away from anyone with a contagious infection. If you DO get sick, BE SURE and tell your Dr. as you will not run a fever if you get sick while on the drug, so your Dr. will need to know.
