The black plague was a widespread pandemic that was caused by a bacteria.

it was caused back a long time ago by fleas carried by rats. it affected people, rats, most animals i think. i think it was caused by the underpopulation of cats because of the witch burnings earlier and the fact that the people back then were not sanitry at all.

It caused lesions on the skin that were red and later filled in with black.
It is still around today in southern Africa. It's easily cured by penicillin and lives in the soil.

Sorry do not remember the symptoms.. I think that is where "ring around the possy" song came from....They had to burn the dead bodies.

It was spread by fleas which infected rats which then spread it on to humans. It was from Mongol China after a failed siege where they flung plagued victims over some European forts walls. First a few black lumps (or buboes) form near the armpits and death usually ensues 24-48 hours later. It is believed to be the Bubonic Plague and refugees spread it throughout Europe. Symptoms include: the eyes yellowing, theres fever, swelled,tender lymph nodes.
