Ever heard that acid reflux can give a person a productive cough?!

Question: I just had a scope yesterday & this was their great revelation...
I think they are wacko! So far, they thought I had bronchitis, candida of the bronchil tubes, asthma, and now acid reflux.

How am I suppose to know which of the four diagnosis it is!?!?!

acid reflux can cause irritation in the sinuses and bronchials. This irritation can in turn lead to increased mucus production. A cough is the body's natural defense against mucus in the bronchials and lungs. (GERD can cause asthma flares and sinus infections)

My sons sinus infections and asthma were very difficult to control until they ran the test for GERD and started treatment for control of his GERD.

They are probably right. Before my acid reflux was treated I had a terrible cough, but ever since I started taking my medicine, it's gone away.

Yes acid reflux can give you a productive cough.

Acid reflux can cause erosion of the lower end of your esophagus. If you smoke, or live in an environment where members of the household smoke, smoke is probably the culprit. However, how productive is your cough?
