It's called idiopathic pain, which means that there is pain but nothing is wrong.

Don't worry, lot's of people have it and it's not in your head, but stop worrying about it, it can drive you crazy looking for a cause and the fact is that you get more as you get older.

If it gets too bad just ask for some pain control, but my guess over the counter will take care of it. If it doesn't and it is affecting your life ask your Physician for pain control. You won't be the first patient he has treated for idiopathic pain and again it is real pain, it isn't in your head.

But there is nothing wrong physically and no one knows why idiopathic pain occurs.

Sorry I know it's very confusing when it first happens because the pain can be quite severe at times, but eventually everyone you know will experience idiopathic pain at some time during their lives..

Yes, and I always thought it was my gallbladder. I just figured I would wait until it became more severe or my symptoms increased. Have you tried going to a chiropractor, pain specialist or a neurologist?

It could be muscular.

You haven't really got any organs in that area - it's nearish to the bowel though.

It could also be referred pain - pain that originates from another site, but is causing pain in another area.

Are your bowels okay? If you're a bit clogged up in that area you can get pain in the sides. It's usually the left side though.

If you're not happy with what the doctors have told you then ask them to investigate again.

i have been like that ten years, but i know what mine are, you sure you haven't got kidney stones ?it started like i say 10 yrs ago, three years ago they took one kidney out on the left side but all the muscles died on my side, that has left me in a lot of pain now i have stones on the right one but it comes in waves and its sooooooooo painful

i had gallstones for years.did you have an ultrasound scan of your abdomen?gallstones don't show up on an x-ray!or kidney stones?

Many many years it seems when are the real "medical people" I had been seeing kept either saying It might be my imgination.. finally located the right Dr.. and in 24 hours he located the source and gave me a couple injections .. directly in the area of the pain.... and then he left govt... so I started getting massages.. and that worked GREAT... no shots anymore and no pain either... try getting a real massage...
