If you are in recovery then you should know that there is nothing that you can say or do that will help him until he wants the help. What did it take you to get clean and sober? Work your own program and let him hit his bottom. I have been in recovery for over 15 yrs and have seen more people relaps, trying to get someone else clean. If you want to continue to deal with him then I suggest you seek out help in Alanon.

I suggest that you have thrown him out, you should simply get on with your own life. His life and his problems are HIS responsibility, you obviously have your own issues to deal with, you don't need to take his on.

Stick to your word and don't let him back. If you let him back in, he will continue on his way of destruction because you are enabling him. Most addicts need to hit "rock bottom" before they see they have to get help. If you continue to support or help him in any way, why should he get help?

You need to cut ties and get on with your life. There is no "rescuing" him. He has to want it himself.

In my experience, there is nothing YOU can do, unless HE wants help... the best thing for you to do, is run as far away as you can from him (literally if you can-to distance yourself), until his obsession (which usually will come after a break up with an addict) with you is gone on to something or someone else. Best of luck to you....
