Try mixing a little Baking Soda with water to form a paste and apply it to the sore. Try a little at a time since it's likely to give a burning sensation! My understanding is that cold sores involve an overproduction of acidity so this helps neutralize the acid quickly. Hope this helps!
Abreva and neosporin. Pile them both on.
A Valtrex prescription would be good too for the future just to have.
Sorry, home remedies don't cut it when it comes to cold sores. Get a prescription for 1% Denavir cream. That's what I use, and it works great.
I dont know if this is a "home" remide, but get l-lycine. If it is in a tablate, or powder, whatever it takes. It works great!
I use Abreva....its like $17 for a little tube...but it REALLY works...before i heard of abreva i would hold a hot rag over it for awhile...it seemed to lighten up that way.
Abreva works good. My sister-in-law gets them real bad and I bought her abreva and she swears by it. The only home remedy is not pick at it.
