Last week a "perfect circle" appeared on my face, what is it?!

Question: Out of no where this mark was on my face. It looked like a bug bite with a perfect ring around it. (Almost as if some smooshed a lifesaver on me). It went away within 20 minutes, but a couple days later, it came back! It went away in about a half hour. What on earth is this???? No symptoms either!

HI Bud

Here are some ideas to heal the issue.

Cause
Ringworm is most often due to poor hygiene and/or too tightly enclosed clothing that can cause excessive sweating in the affected area. To treat and prevent ringworm, bathe or shower at least once a day, and change socks and underwear every day. If you use showers in public areas, such as in the gym, wear shower sandals to avoid fungal contact with your feet and toes.

Ringworm can also be a secondary condition associated with candidiasis. A parasite and colon cleanse is needed for long term good health.

Natural Cures

Aromatherapy: Topical applications of rosemary, tea tree, lavender, geranium, peppermint, thuja, and/or thyme can be helpful.

Diet: Avoid all sugars, alcohol, processed foods, and foods to which you are allergic or sensitive (screen for food allergies). Also avoid wheat and dairy products, and eat plenty of organic, fresh vegetables, as well as garlic and onions, both of which act as natural antibiotics. In addition, drink plenty of pure, filtered water throughout the day.

Herbs: To speed healing, apply a paste made of equal parts myrrh powder and goldenseal powder mixed with a little water.

Homeopathy: Useful remedies include Sepia, Arsen alb., and Graphites.

Nutritional Supplementation: The following nutrients are recommended: garlic capsules and probiotic substances such as Lactobacillus acidophilus and Bifidobacteria, vitamin A, vitamin B-complexB-complex, vitamin C with bioflavonoids, vitamin E, bee pollen, evening primrose oil, citrus seed extract (orally and applied topically), and colloidal silver (applied topically).

Topical Treatment: Tape or bandage a thin slice of garlic directly over the affected area for several days.

Alternative Professional Care
If your symptoms persist despite the above measures, seek the help of a qualified health professional. The following professional care therapies have all been shown to be useful for treating ringworm: Detoxification Therapy, Magnetic Field Therapy, Naturopathic Medicine, Oxygen Therapy (ozonated olive oil applied topically), and Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Best of health to you

Sounds like ringworm.

I had ringworm on my calf and it looked exactly as you described. It was gross looking but it didn't hurt, and it went away after a while.

Probably ringworm (don't worry, it's a fungus, not a worm). You'll need to see a doc to get it treated...here are pix of it from the internet if you want to compare.

It is a ringworm ! You can buy cream over the counter such as Lotrimin cream. Apply it daily until it can not be seen. Sometimes it takes days or even weeks to completely cure ! It will continue to get larger and can be contagious if untreated. These are usually caught from dogs or cats. Not dangerous, just unsightly.

Ringworm, also known as "Tinea", is an infection of the skin, characterized by a reddish to brownish raised or bumpy patch of skin that may be lighter in the center, giving the appearance of a 'ring'. Contrary to its name, ringworm is not caused by a worm but by parasitic fungi (Dermatophytosis). It can exist anywhere on the body.

Fungi are tiny organisms that survive by eating plant or animal material, those that cause parasitic infection (dermatophytes) feed on keratin, the material found in the outer layer of skin, hair, and nails. These fungi thrive best on skin that is moist, hot, and hidden from the light. Together with the other dermatophytosis, up to 20 percent of the population has one of these infections at any given moment.

Topical antifungal drugs containing miconazole (Daktarin, Micatin & Monistat), clotrimazole, terbinafine (Lamisil), butenafine and tolnaftate (Tinactin), many available without a prescription, are used to clear up the infection. Pyrithione zinc, found in Head and Shoulders shampoo, is a very effective treatment for ringworm on the scalp and can be used as a body wash to assist in overall
