It's a bacteria.
The drugs on TV that you mention are (probably) drugs for conditions like bad arthritis. They suppress the immune system (lower your defenses against infection). So, IF you were on one of them and IF you had a significant exposure to TB, you might get TB.
In short, the drugs don't 'give' you TB, they just make it easier to CATCH TB.
