During the daytime you are generally upright and can be taking medication and blowing your nose. At night you lay down in bed and your sinuses and nose don't drain the same way. As you sleep you don't blow your nose and you get all stuffed up, so when you wake up you really don't feel well. Use some of the nighttime cold meds as they really will help you sleep better and should help with the congestion and stuffiness.

Same thing happens to me. I think it's because a) since you're not working/doing anything else, you're paying more attention to how sick you feel, and b) the mucus is sliding back down into your throat and your nose is usually more stuffed up, etc. Try rubbing Vicks under your nose and on your chest and sitting propped up a little bit. Feel better!

hey, when they say your sick and should get more sleep, they mean for proven and logical reasons. goto bed earlier, when it gets later in the day, what happens you start to wear out and tire right, well so does the body. the more tired you are the harder your body has to fight the cold. some people stay up all night and get a cold the next day, they set themselves up for it.

put vix vapor rub on your chest or something so you can breathe at night and get some rest. take lots of vitamin C. it helps alot, especially since its winter
