Ow does the Insulin Pump look?!

Question: Im 17, and i have heard really good things about the insulin pump. Im interestedin getting it, as out health care would cover alot of it.
But here the thing, im seventeen and i dont wanna look like a dork.
It is obvious when your wearing it or can you see it at all? I do like to wear tighter clothings somettimes, and well, i cant see that looking so great with a pump. I have sen pics of ppl with them, but thats pretty hard to judge by, ya know.

Hows it look? anyone that has one or seen someone with one, can you please tell me about it?
how big is it?

i'm 19 and have been on the pump for 8 years. it looks like a pager...that's what most people think it is until you tell them otherwise. i like to wear tight clothes too sometimes, and i just clip it onto my belt as i would if i were wearing baggy clothes. people really don't notice. even tho it can be a nuisance sometimes, and i really wish i could wear certain things, but can't i wouldn't give it up to go back to shots...ever! you should definitely get it...it makes your diabetes so much easier to control too. go to minimed.com to take a look...and feel free to email me if you have questions.

You don't look like a dork wearing a pump.

I've had one for 8 years. Granted, I'm a lot older than you are but I have no problem with wearing it. Most people who see it think it's a pager or something. I tuck the tubing into my clothes and it's not really visible. The pump clips to the waistband of your pants, your skirt, your undies...wherever. There are even bra pockets and thigh straps that can be worn under clothes.

The pump is about the size of a pager...maybe a little bit bigger. Don't worry too much about how it looks. The convenience and control that the pump gives you is well worth the slight cost of vanity. Besides, your friends might think it's a cool thing to have. Mine often makes a good converation piece and I don't mind answering questions about it.

I think a lot of people won't even recognize that its a pump, instead people might think its just a pager or cell phone.
