Do i have cancer in my neck?!
Question: i have found a lump on the side of my neck it quite hard an doesnt really hurt i have been to my doctors an he gave me antibiotics to see if it will clear up and to go back in 2 weeks but i just cant help worrying its cancer as my mum and dad have ad breast and lug cancer. any advice

Two weeks should be enough time to clear it up if it is a cyst or pustule which is the only reason a doctor should automatically be giving you antibiotics. It is worrisome that a Dr would prescribe antibiotics and risk your building up a tolerance if there are not serious indicators that it is an infection.
If it does not go away, and if your Dr has such a cavalier attitude when you go back in 2 weeks, find another doctor! With your family history, the Dr should rule out more serious causes.

There is one lump in the neck that moves apparently I've never found mine!

you went to the doctors and he never checked it ? like . used some sort of machine to see wether or not you actually have cancer or not. sew him . Dont worry ;) just goto someone who can have a good look.
I;ve had a lump on my neck a few years ago and it went away. So dont worry too much ! give it time
Trust your doctor & try not to worry.Once anti-biotics start the lump will go down.Good Luck
follow the doctors instructions and see what happens. but dont ignore it!!!
if you are not happy with what the doc is saying or not saying then get a second opinion.don't worry theres no point cause you will make your self ill
I had a lump in my kneck and the doctor just removed it and i was fine.
most likely its a cist.(nothing to worry about)
It's probably nothing to worry about - it's probably a swollen gland due to the infection you've got. If it doesn't improve by the time your antibiotics have run out then I suggest going back to your doctor.
I had a hard lump on my thyroid gland, which wasn't cancerous but a benign nodule. Go and see a doctor. Maybe you can have it removed

Just because you have a lump, doesn't mean it is cancerous. It could be a cyst or your muscle. My advice would be to see another doctor and get a 2nd opinion.
Hi,please try not to worry too much unless the lump gets any bigger ,then even if it is not two weeks go back to your doctor.The antibiotic should start to kick in within a couple of days,and hopefully will get rid of the lump.If you are still not happy when you go back then ask to see another doctor and get a second opinion,say why you are concerned ,owing to your parents history,maybe they will send you for some tests ,just to be on the safe side.Good luck and i hope it is just a bit of an infection and nothing more serious .
If your doctor has seen it the chances are it is not cancerous or he would have sent you to hospital
You are going to be fine. I know lots of people with lumps in their neck. My brother has had one for about 10 yrs, and my friend has one for a long time. She didnt specify how long.
Just make sure you go to the doctor for a follow up. They may want to biopsy it for safety. Many people get painless hard lumps in their neck which are calcified lymph nodes and nothing to worry about.
Request an FNA biopsy.
