Will vitamin e help my acne/scars this way...?!

Question: Well i just started today using it. I dont have that bad acne just a lil. Many scars tho. I poped open a vitamin e ( natural it says) rubbed half on my scars then i swollowed the other half that was still in pill. I heard tho that this vitamin only works on scars and will actually cause pimples. Is this true. Also will taking vitamin e pills everyday help pimples.
