Is it ok to take singulair and benadryl at the same time?!

Question: they are not contraindicated and singular and anti-histimines are commonly prescribed to be used at the same time. They are two different medications that treat two different things.

Bendryl is an anti-histimine. It works by blocking the productions of histimines. Histimines are a response by the sinuses in reaction to allergens and/or stimuli. (claritin, zyrtec etc are just newer generation versions of drugs like benedryl with fewer side effects then benedryl)

Singular is an anti-lueketriene. it works by blocking the production of lueketrienes. Lueketrienes are a response by the bronchials in reaction to stimuli and/or allergens. Lueketrienes are not produced by all people (for example only 2/3's of people with asthma have this as a contributor) however there is not a test currently to check (like allergy testing for histimine reaction) so the only way to see if lueketrienes are causing problems is the try and see if it helps approach.

It's never wise to mix & match drugs, but call your druggist. They know all & are willing to tell

probably not.

Yes, it's perfectly fine to take singulair (prescription asthma/allergy medication) and bendadryl (anti-histamine) at the same time. I've taken singulair and benadryl at the same time for months in the past, I've also taken singulair and claritin at the same time. Personally for me, singular and claritin works together the best.

You may want to ask your doctor about it first, though.
