Water Retention?!

Question: I have been having trouble urinating, and when i do it is a dark yellow, with a very strong odor.. My left foot on the top looks like Jello shaking around when i walk. I excersise on a treadmill for 30 mins a day, I am a Diabetic, I take 25mg of Nova-Hydrazide a Day. What might be the under lying problem? I am 5'11 260lbs, and 50 years old.

I am a recovering alcoholic, and I am feeling worried. I am scared of Doctors, as i always feel like they are going to tell me i have liver cancer or Kidney Failure.

It only seems to be more on my left foot then anywhere else.??

Please , if anyone has had the same or any ideas please reply, Thanks Kindly....

You have a lot of challenges! Although your medication is to reduce water retention, mostly so you can sleep through the night, you need to take in more water during the early day to late afternoon to reduce the build of waste in your body.

As a recovering alcoholic you will already have liver challenges made worse by your diabetic condition. Being over weight does not help.

The description of your foot implies as diabetic you have been a bad boy taking care of your condition. Be honest your current health is the result of a long life style choice.

Best of all, IT CAN CHANGE for the better. See your doctor and a dietitian. Develop discipline and live as they recommend. You will get better!

I don't have the challenges you have. But, at 57 I was diagnosed an out of control diabetic. Today at 58 I enjoy health of my 40s and nearly diet control diabetic condition.

Start to renew your health today!

Best Wishes.

As a diabetic, have you tried the anti-embolism stockings? We have a lot of patients that wear those to help regulate poor circulation in their lower extremities. Circulations that would help keep the water retention down. You actually need to drink more water if your urine is that dark. Drinking more water actually lowers the amount of water your body retains, this is because it is no longer in a dehydrated state.

Those stockings save limbs, so don't act like your to manly for them. And I hate going to the Doc as much as you do, but if i was going into kidney failure, I would want to know about it.
