No, there are no costs to you other than a registration fee. Basically, you assemble a team. The team can be you, a few people or many people.
You find an event in your area and register your team.
You find ways to raise money for the American Cancer Society and their causes including research and advocacy.
You can do a garage sale.
Sent your personal donation link to your friends and family.
Set up a 50/50 raffle.
Appeal to local business to donate. It depends on how creative you want to be. Donations can be cash or donated via a credit card on the web.

On the event day, bring your team and whatever cash donations you collected. You're given a campsite where you can set up a tent and some chairs.
The event is 24 hours. There is no running or even walking required. Some of our participants are still ill. The event begins with a Survivor lap and a Caregiver lap along with an opening ceremony. The rest of the evening, you can participate in games, walk the track as many times as you are able, interact with friends, other survivors and family. Throughout the evening, there are specialty laps where you get tootsie rolls, coupons or other items donated from local businesses. The most serious part of the event is the Luminaria ceremony which remembers those that lost their lives to cancer and honors those still fighting. Thousands of lighted luminaria light the track as we hope for the cure.
It's a family friendly event and adults and children of all ages are welcome.

For more information, contact the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org. To find an event in your area, www.relayforlife.org.

I'm a committee member for our local relay. We hope to see you there. The more people involved, the better.

If you're a team captain it cost, I believe $25 or 50 (I'm not a 100% positive) There are no age limits, it's great to see 5 year old kids through 85 year old grandparents participating. If you're a team member, you have to raise a minimum of $100 each. It's really a great time, for such an excellent cause!! You should do one, here's their website http://www.relayforlife.org/relay/relayo...
